After updated my RSLogix5000 from version 17.00 to 17.01 yesterday, I noticed that it took more than 3 minutes to open up the file explorer after I clicked on the File -> Open. It was very annoying. After some research, I found out that you could set the software back to its default settings with the following procedure:
Hold down both the Shift key and Control key while opening RSLogix 5000. Hold down both keys until the program starts up fully (showing the Quick Start screen). Now the software is reset to default settings. With this procedure, I fixed my File Open problem.
I used the same procedure to fix my RSLogix 500 software File Open problem as well.
