How to save $200 by programming your Toyota Keyless Remote

Background

I lost my 2004 Toyota Sienna remote key-less entry. I called the dealership and was surprised to find out that it would cost me more than $240 to get a replacement remote, the remote itself was $116 with $122 for programming.

Finding the parts

Being a cheap do it youselfer, I checked the Internet and found that there were a lot of places that sells remotes that worked with 2004 Toyota Sienna. The programming seemed easy as well. Here are two sources:

Amazon, set of 2 for $14.99
Key Fob Keyless Entry Remote fits Toyota Tacoma Tundra Sienna Sequoia Highlander (GQ43VT20T), Set of 2

Ebay, set of 2 for $15.49, free shipping
2 Replacement Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob 3Btn For Toyota Sienna Van GQ43VT20T

Ordering was easy and shipment was fast.
